Wakai Waian Healing

Edward Mosby is a proud son of the Zenadth Kez (Torres Strait), born on Waiben (Thursday Island), within the traditional lands and waters of the Kaurareg people. He has deep family connections to Masig (Yorke Island), the traditional land of the Masigilgal people. As the Senior Psychologist and owner of Wakai Waian Healing, Ed has been at the coalface for fifteen years as a clinician dealing with the ongoing complex trauma of colonisation, institutionalised racism, violence and incarceration. He is an ex-army Major with deeply personal experiences about the human spirit. As an experienced clinician, he also sits on national Indigenous mental health and domestic violence committees advising the Government; he mentors students and is dedicated to advancing First Nations healing practices and enhancing the black mental health workforce. He is an active member of the Australian Indigenous Psychologist Association (AIPA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS). He is proud that Wakai Waian Healing uniquely employs First Nations clinicians with sustainable self-care workforce practices and ongoing professional development, ensuring that healing for clinicians and clients is rooted in robust cultural safety mechanisms and community-led strategies.
