Debra Bowman
Manager Social and Emotional Wellbeing Services
Waminda
I am a proud Ngemba woman from Brewarrina NSW, now living and working on the beautiful lands
and waterways of the Jerrinja, Wodi Wodi and Wanda Wandian people of the Yuin Nation on the
southeast coast of NSW, in the town of Nowra. I am a mum of 4 amazing kids and nan of 6, almost 7
beautiful Granny’s.
In my role at Waminda as Manager of SEWB Services, I work and walk alongside a small team of
counsellors and therapists who offer culturally safe, therapeutic and wholistic support to our women,
children and communities. I support the development and delivery of programs that promote
emotional, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing. I work closely with staff, community members, and
partner organisations to ensure services are aligned with Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and
doing. I provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to ensure our programs, counselling
and therapeutic services meet the needs of our community.
