Eliza Kitchener

Eliza Kitchener is a Dharawal and Wiradjuri woman (she/her), from Darkinjung Country. Eliza is an Aboriginal social worker and holds postgraduate qualifications in her passion area of trauma recovery and healing practice. Eliza’s previous work has focused on SEWB practice with First Nations youth and women facing homelessness/DV.
Importantly, she is a lived experience of suicide advocate, using her own experiences of facing suicidality as a young Aboriginal woman as well as responding to and advocating for others experiencing mental health crises to inform her work and life. In her role at IALEC, Eliza coordinates the National Indigenous Lived Experience Group (NILEG), elevating community voices to influence state and National suicide prevention initiatives.
