I am a proud and respected Malgana woman from Shark Bay Western Australia, living and working in Yamaji Southern county and the surrounding areas of Geraldton Western Australia.
I have over 16 years’ experience as a registered Psychologist and previously worked in government roles as a psychologist both in the Dept of Communities WA and Dept of Health WA.
I am an AHPRA Board approved supervisor for Psychologist interns on the 4 + 2 / 5 + 1 pathway.
I have completed a Bachelor of Arts Psychology degree with Edith Cowan University WA, Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology with Murdoch University, and Master of Clinical Psychology with Charles Sturt University NSW.
I am currently undertaking a PhD with Deakin University researching the relational health and wellbeing of Australian Aboriginal children and young people.
I have an appointment as an Honorary Research associate with Murdoch University and an appointed Professional Practice Fellow for the School of Psychology, University of Western Australia. My strengths as a psychologist are in my ability to provide professional and comprehensive psychological assessment, intervention, consultation and supervision to my clients in a timely, professional, genuine and empathic manner.
I have had a rewarding career having lived and worked in the remote Northwest of Western Australia in Karratha; the Pilbara community where I developed solid working relationships with remote communities and provided comprehensive psychological assessment and clinical services to children and families in contact with the WA Child Protection service. I am a proud mother to two sons who are both adults now and carving out solid careers for themselves in the mining industry.
In February 2023 established my own company; McNeair Aboriginal Psychological Services Pty Ltd which provides psychological services to rural and remote clients in communities. I was appointed as a Director to The Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association (AIPA) in 2023 and I am also an appointed member of the Dept of Education Aboriginal Advisory Body for Western Australia where I represent and support to advocate for the education needs of Aboriginal children and young people in the Midwest Murchison region of Western Australia.
